My name is Ricky Carlton, as I'm sure you've probably learned by now.
I'm a graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2009, with a B.A. in Digital Media: Visual Language. The Visual Language program is an intensive, two-year program that focuses on animation production and the art of storytelling. Working with a team of 24 other students, I was lucky enough to experience every aspect of animation production as we worked together to create our own animated short, entitled "Atlas' Revenge." During the production, my work and experience led to me being appointed 'Assistant Director' of the film, the highest honor for a student in the Visual Language program.
Throughout college, and now beyond, I've worked as a Graphic Artist/3D Modeler in the simulation industry. My responsibilities have included creating various 3D models - highly detailed and low polygon, environment, vessels, hard-surface and organic - and working in 2D packages to create textures, layouts, and other designs. I have experience leading groups of artists, as well as taking direction and working alongside a team (which is a creative process I find extremely valuable).
Thank you so very much for taking the time to learn a little about me; I greatly value every second spent looking over my work and my portfolio here.
Thanks,
Ricky Carlton
